Description

Alright, so this time it's lineart-less fanart again. 8D'
The character featured here is Qing Er (or Chin'er, in some translations?) from 仙劍奇俠傳 (aka Chinese Paladin 1/Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan 1/Legend of Sword and Fairy 1/PAL1/whateverelseyouwanttocallthisgame), one of the most famous cRPGs in... well... China, surprise. For some people wuxia drama series (which I'm planning to watch in not-yet-defined future) might be more familiar.

My fascination with Chinese Paladin series started long time ago, and I ran into drama first. But then, I found out that it was based on a game annnnd since I REALLY like games and I enjoy China-inspired setting, I decided to play it. Well, easier said than done, since chinese games don't seem to be all that popular when it comes to localizations (or any kind of translations, for that matter). And I don't know chinese. Still, by some wonderful miracle I managed to find a translation of the first game. Thanks to that I can at least understand one out of what, 8 games? Woohooo! 8D

Coming back to the character, Qing Er is a minor character in the game (well, she IS playable but only for a while so I'm not sure if that counts). Her story was probably one of the most touching to me. I don't want to dive into spoilers too much (not in this paragraph, at least) but she is the mother of one of the heroines in the game (and I kinda like her a little bit more than said heroine - I'm not saying I dislike the latter, though!). The player doesn't get to know her all that well but she is clearly a strong and kind woman with a sense of duty. And she fights to the best of her abilities to make sure her daughter's future is better. ;-; I appreciate her as a character.

About the picture itself, I started creating it 2 years ago but then I had to deal with school and so it spent all this time hidden in the folder, unfinished. But I've recently come around to finishing it and... here is the result. I like how it came out. There are some little things I would correct here and there but that's nothing new in my case. xD I had a little more ambitious plans for the background but, in the end, I've settled for what you can see up there. : )

Chinese Paladin series, as well as Qing Er herself, are owned by Softstar, not by me in any way.

Once again, I hope you like it!

More detailed description of my inspiration for the picture:

HEAVY SPOILER ALERT! (and some ramblings ahead)
The scene in picture above is based on this very moment which takes place after BEING CHASED THROUGH THE WHOLE UNDERWATER DUNGEON BY THIS SNAKE-LIKE THING WITH MULTIPLE HEADS AAARGH. No, seriously, at first I was like "Oh, thank goodness it's so slow!" but then I remembered how awful I am when it comes to navigating dungeons. I was sure I would get an instant glorious Game Over the moment this thing caught me so I was like "NOPENOPENO--- *caught me* "boss battle starts" Oh hey, I'm alive!". Then I proceeded to beat this thing up and then... after a short while it resumed the chase after me because IT. COULDN'T. JUST. DIE. And the cycle repeated itself two more times, at least. : |
A-anyway, after some time I reached this ONE SPOT and got the scene this fanart was based on. It's the scene when, with no other way to escape, Qing Er uses a spell to get Xiaoyao (the hero) out of the dungeon, while she stays to face the monster by herself. This fanart is supposed to depict this one moment when she turns around to face the hero one last time and tell him "Go!".
...And before that she tells him to take care of her daughter, which, by this point in the game, we already know he does. And I just find it somehow heartwarming that he was actually doing what she asked him to without even knowing it. ;w;
END OF SPOILERS (and of my ramblings)!

Trochę późny komentarz, ale w końcu jestem! xD

Mówiłam to już chyba z tysiąc razy, ale kocham te oczy :D ( I wgl wszystkie oczy jakie rysujesz xD zawsze mają taki śliczny kolor i wyglądają bosko~! )

I nareszcie! Me błagania zostały wysłuchane!
